“Boldness to enter into the holiest”: interview with Rev. Rodney Kleyn on Hebrews 10 series

Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; And having an high priest over the house of God; Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

— Hebrews 10:19-25

Through the end of May we will be airing a series of messages on Hebrews 10:19-25 by Rev. Rodney Kleyn.

You can follow this link to view a list of the five upcoming messages in this series. Below is an interview with Rev. Kleyn on this series.

Can you give a brief summary of the series of messages that will be airing on Hebrews 10:19-25?

This brief passage speaks of the wonderful access that we have to heaven through Jesus Christ and the great privileges that we have in the church of Jesus Christ on earth.

Who is this series for?

It is a passage of general encouragement for all Christians.

Why is this an important topic for RWH listeners? What do you hope listeners take away from the series?

As I prepared this series of sermons, I had in mind especially verses 24 and 25 which encourage Christians to be connected to a body of believers in a local church. As Christians we need one another and cannot survive spiritually in isolation.

Are there any particular messages in the series that are especially applicable in today’s world and in today’s church world?

Faithfulness to our confession, perseverance in the face of opposition, being sympathetic to the struggles of fellow believers, counseling and encouraging one another from the Word of God, and being faithful in our attendance and use of gifts in the local church.

Too many Christians today are isolated either by choice, or because there is a lack of community in the local church.
